Xperia Z4 vs Moto X 2014 Specs, Price Comparison: Features Review - Great Design Versus Top Specs
The Moto X 2014 was described as "amazing" when it was launched last year as it offered a huge amount of customization in addition to its great specs. Compared to it, the recently launched Sony Xperia Z4 looks like its predecessor but comes with better specs.
Design
The strength of the Moto X lies in its design. Although it comes with a minimum amount of metal, it exudes a premier look with a band wrapped around its edges. As for the back panel, it can be customized extensively with plastic, wood, bamboo and even leather. On the other hand, the Xperia Z4 looks and feels like the Z3. Not surprisingly it has a metal frame and glass on its back panel. However, it has a water-proof rating of IP 68 while its competitor is just water resistant.
Display
The Moto X comes with an AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch. The Xperia Z4 has an IPS LCD screen with a similar resolution and pixel density.
Specs
In terms of specs, there is a major difference as the Xperia Z4 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, a quad-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores, four Cortex-A57 cores and an Adreno 430 GPU. As for the Moto X it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
There is a big difference in terms of memory slots as the Xperia Z4 has one that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external memory. The Moto X does not have one. When it comes to RAM, the Moto X again trails with 2 GB while the Xperia Z4 has 3 GB.
Price
The Moto X is an older device and so it is cheaper and can be purchased for $100 with a two-year contract. The Xperia Z4 could be priced at $900 in its unlocked state.
