YouTube removes undercover video showing abortionists discussing grisly abortion procedures
YouTube has removed a new video that features abortionists and Planned Parenthood officials discussing gruesome abortion procedures and the harvesting of baby body parts.
According to Live Action, the video, released by Center for Medical Progress (CMP), was removed just hours after it was uploaded to the video sharing platform for "violating YouTube's Terms of Service."
The three-minute clip features Planned Parenthood officials discussing abortion procedures, such as tearing babies apart limb by limb.
In the video, Dr. Ann Schutt-Aine purportedly describes how she performs the procedure to keep it from becoming partial birth abortions, since it is illegal.
"I might ask for a second set of forceps to hold the body at the cervix, and pull off a leg, or two, so it's not PBA [partial-birth abortion]," said the abortionist.
According to The Stream, partial-birth abortions involve removing the baby's entire, intact body from the womb, with the exception of the head. The unborn baby's head is then punctured at the base of the skull to suck out the brains, collapse the skull and deliver what is left of the baby.
Abortionists also discuss the harvesting of baby body parts and other problems they encounter while performing abortions.
In one panel discussion, Lisa Harris, medical director at Planned Parenthood of Michigan, described abortion as a "violent" procedure and suggested that activists should admit that the unborn baby is a "person."
"Let's just give them all the violence, it's a person, it's killing, let's just give them all that," she said, adding that abortionists see the unborn "the same way" as pro-life advocates, but they still consider the procedure beneficial.
The short clip also contains footage of Planned Parenthood officials who appear to be admitting that abortion clinics often profit from selling fetal tissue.
"But the truth is that some might want to do it for, to increase their revenues. And we can't stop them," said Deb Van Derhei, the National Director for the Consortium of Abortion Providers at Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
The new video is just a preview of footages that were taken at the National Abortion Federation (NAF) conferences in 2014 and 2015. According to the video clip, Planned Parenthood makes up about 50 percent of NAF's members and leaders.
After CMP released the clip on Thursday, U.S. District Judge William Orrick ordered its removal. The judge reportedly threatened to hold CMP President David Daleiden in contempt after links to the video appeared on the website of his legal counsel.
