'Zoo' season 3 air date, plot news: What to expect in next season after breathtaking finale

"Zoo" season 3 was made official last month. After the season 2 finale that tied some loose ends and opened up new mysteries, cast member James Wolk shared some details on what to expect in the next season.

A lot of people have died as the Animal Avengers sought for the cure. Mitch (Billy Burke) was believed to be one of them as he chose to sacrifice himself for the team to be able to disseminate the cure.

It was revealed in the 10-year time jump that Mitch is alive and that her daughter Clementine (Madison Wolfe) where he is and he might even help in stopping the hybrid attacks.

"Zoo" season 3 is expected to reveal how Mitch managed to live through it all, and if it is something that Clementine knew all along the moment she was told that her father died.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about what to expect in "Zoo" season 3, Wolk said that the Animal Avengers "need to save humanity."

"There's clearly also a threat with these razorback hybrid animals. The audience is really going to be seeing a really interesting world in season 3, and I'm so thrilled we got picked up for a season 3," the actor said.

"That happened after we read this final episode, and when I saw the world that the writers and creators had set up, I was so excited that this world now gets to come alive. It's going to be unlike anything else on TV," he teased.

"Zoo" season 3 has no premiere date yet, but since the previous seasons premiered on the month of June, it is safe to say that the next season of the hit summer drama will air on the same month next year.
