Naruto finally had a chance to show his son Boruto that he could hold his own in a fight, but in trying to protect his village, the seventh Hokage failed to protect himself.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" chapter 6 titled "Loser" saw the beginnings of Boruto's journey towards becoming a true blue ninja as he goes off on a mission to save his father from the Otsutsuki invaders.

Wearing Naruto's old jacket and Sasuke's scratched forehead protector, he truly became the embodiment of the combined legacies of two of Konoha's greatest ninjas. At that very moment, he officially became both Naruto's son and Sasuke's number one apprentice and he was about to begin his journey towards greatness that could potentially surpass his father's strength.

Chapter 7 will see Sasuke, the remaining kage, and Boruto arriving at the otherworldly dimension where the Otsutsukis have taken Naruto. The mission will not just be all about saving the seventh Hokage, but will also be about Boruto's transition from loser to Konoha's next generation hero.

It was speculated that the next chapter may cover the rest of the story arc featured in "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" and that the next chapters may finally feature a brand new arc. These future chapters could focus on Boruto and his eventual growth into the fierce defender of Konoha that was featured at the beginning of the manga series.

Meanwhile, it was also suggested that bringing someone as inexperienced as Boruto on a mission to save his father could end up being a liability instead of an asset to Sasuke's team. Will Boruto really be able to hold his own and gradually discover his potential as he fights to protect his father and bring him home, just as he promised he would?

Chapter 7 of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will be out next month in issue #51 of the "Weekly Shounen Jump."
