Canon 5D Mark IV | Canon

Canon's latest flagship camera is finally here. The 5D Mark IV is now ready to hit retailers later this month and it's expected to make a buzz among photography enthusiasts.

According to reports, the new digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) is an impressive upgrade from its predecessor, the 5D Mark III, which came out in 2012. And though the camera is not out yet, the folks over at New Atlas were able to get their hands on it in advance.

The site detailed that the 5D Mark IV comes with a 30.4-megapixel sensor, which is a big bump up from Mark III's 22.3 megapixels. And although the gadget appears just like the old one, it's noted that the new camera is lighter by 150 grams. The Mark IV weighs 800g while its predecessor is 950g.

The new flagship camera also comes with 4K video recording with a capacity of 23.98, 24, 25 and 30 frames per second (fps). Unfortunately for the Mark III users, this capacity is not available in the old one. Nonetheless, both can capture full HD video.

The Mark IV also has an ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable up to 102400). And with a magnesium alloy built and full frame size of 36 x 24 mm, it's said to feel better in the hands compared to the old model.

It is also said to be equipped with a Digic 6 processor and a touch screen. Moreover, other features include Wi-Fi connectivity that can easily facilitate image transfer and remote-control access to the camera, as well as direct connection to computers, printers and Android and iOS devices. This new feature makes the gadget a winner for consumers as they will be able to easily move files from one gadget to another.

There is no specific release date yet but reports indicate that the Canon 5D Mark IV will be out later this month. Its body will carry a price tag of $3,500.
