'Dark Souls 3' DLC update rumors 2016: Expansion pack will allow players to see game in whole new light

The first "Dark Souls 3" downloadable content (DLC) will show a different side of the popular game, according to developer From Software.

"Content-wise, it builds off of the previous titles and will be featuring a new area, enemies, gear, and story," game director Hidetaka Miyazaki told Kotaku.

"The game story revolves around a new location which I believe will offer a different feel from Dark Souls 3," he further teased about the upcoming "Dark Souls 3" DLC.

Miyazaki was a bit coy about the "Dark Souls 3" DLC, but he revealed that this expansion pack will be released around fall this year and that they are still hard at work in stitching it together.

There's also another "Dark Souls 3" DLC to follow that up and this one will be released early next year. Miyazaki did not offer any details on what it will be all about.

Speaking to GameSpot for another interview, Miyazaki said that "Dark Souls 3" became a turning point for the whole franchise and From Software itself.

Because of the success of the game (it has become one of the fastest-selling games this year), From Software is more determined to churn out new and excellent titles.

"We will strive in continuing to create special games of value, so that when people look back to the Dark Souls series, they will distinguish it as the beginning of a new stage for From Software," Miyazaki, who "couldn't be any happier" about the game's success, promised.

In that same interview, Miyazaki reiterated that the "Dark Souls 3" DLC "will bring a different side of Dark Souls III to our players in a special way."

AS far as comic book or mobile game tie-ins go, Miyazaki is not sure there would be one for "Dark Souls 3" and admitted that he might not have time for it.

"Dark Souls 3" was released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and personal computer (PC) last March 24.
