'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: Melanie Returns to Salem, Complicated Reactions Arise
"Days of Our Lives" (DOOL), the long-running TV drama series (Monday to Friday over NBC), is once more shaking the fictional city of Salem to its roots.
Melanie Jonas (formerly Melanie Kiriakis, adopted name of Layton - played by actress Molly Burnett), the daughter of Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian), has returned to Salem, to the delight of the fans of both the character and the actress, who really took it hard when Burnett left the show before.
However, it is only in real life that Burnett is glad about the return of her character. In the drama series, there's a lot of conflict associated with her return, as to be expected.
For one thing, her father, Dr. Jonas is carrying on with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). She is not at all happy about it.
Then, there is also the matter of her former love, Chad Michael DiMera (formerly Peterson-Woods, currently being played by actor Billy Flynn) who is now dating Jordan Ridgeway (born Tammy Sue, currently being played by actress Chrishele Stause). Jordan is jealous of Melanie, and she is threatened by Melanie's return to Salem.
Incidentally, Chad is also jealous of Melanie. But Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi), Chad's ex, does not feel insecure and threatened, unlike Jordan. Chad apparently has not moved on yet about his split with Abby.
But it is not just Melanie who has suddenly become the object of jealousy in Salem. Jennifer Horton-Deveraux (Melissa Reeves), the former love interest of Dr. Jonas, is very much affected in a negative way by the relationship of Dr. Jonas and Nicole, even if such relationship is only in its early stages.
Will this situation develop into an alliance between Melanie and Jennifer? Keep watching "Days of Our Lives" to find out.
