'Descendants 2' premiere date, spoilers news update: First look at cast released; Ben turns to the dark side?

Disney Channel's upcoming original movie "Descendants 2" has now provided its fans a first look of the cast and it has proven to be one that they should be excited about.

Disney released some photos featuring the cast in their new looks. Included in the teaser are the original stars Cameron Boyce who plays Carlos, Sofia Carson as Evie, Dove Cameron as Mal, Booboo Stewart as Jay, and Mitchell Hope as Ben, who seems to have turned to the dark side.

It should be noted that Ben has ditched his formal suit for an edgier look. Does this mean that Ben is now one of the Villain Kids? Spoilers detailed in Entertainment News cited that Ben is dressed as a villain in the first exclusive photo because he is set to go after Mal.

Director Kenny Ortega dished that in the sequel, Ben will realize that Mal has departed Auradon. This will push him to go after her and bring her back. Carlos, Evie and Jay will volunteer to help Ben but before they could allow him to look for Mal in the Isle of the Lost, they have to teach him how to be wicked.

Ben must learn how to go around the area without being recognized by the locals. It seems like it's not going to be an easy task as the synopsis revealed that Ursula's daughter, Uma, played by newcomer China Anne McClain, has taken over the spot of Mal.

Uma is bearing a grudge for not being picked by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids. This led her to be the self-proclaimed queen of the rundown town. She's also going to wreak havoc by breaking the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and release all the villains that have been held captive in the place.

There is no specific date yet for the premiere of "Descendants 2" but reports noted that it will be released sometime summer next year.
