Bungie is reportedly developing the second title for the "Destiny" video game franchise. Joining the development team from Bungie are High Moon, Vicarious Visions and more. The game won't be much of a sequel; the developers will revamp the franchise with the alleged title, introducing new characters, features, storylines, and gameplay, reports say.

Kotaku reports that over 750 employees of Bungie have been assigned to work on the game. Furthermore, Activision recruited developers from the aforementioned studios to aid in the creation of "Destiny 2." Due to staff reorganization, Luke Smith, the director of "The Taken King," and Mark Noseworthy, the executive producer for the said title, were reassigned to work on the forthcoming "Destiny" game.

The news outlet also notes that the game has been compared to Blizzard's "Diablo 2," which failed to continue significant content from its sequel, and that the franchise will be revamped starting with the upcoming title.

According to Express, the game will feature character resets. Hence, new characters will be introduced to the franchise, while the old ones will be set aside. The second installment will also introduce new maps and new activities to this line. Populated towns, outposts, and quests will be added to allow players to have action-packed patrol missions.

Screenshots of "Destiny 2" were leaked, revealing swords and shields that confirm the theory that developers are creating something entirely brand new. The screenshots were leaked shortly after the launching of "Destiny: Rise of Iron" expansion for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. The DLC featured a new raid, game mode, weapons, and gear.

Unlike the first title, which was exclusive to consoles, reports say "Destiny 2" will also be available on PCs. The upcoming game will be made available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users.

Watch out for more updates on "Destiny 2."
