'Dragon Ball Super' episode 51 spoilers news: Trunks and Mai reunion possible; Black is not the real Goku?

The much-awaited face-off of Son Goku and his alternate evil version from the future, Black Goku, finally happened in the previous episode of "Dragon Ball Super." Akira Toriyama's original creation has once again brought the viewers to the concept of time travel, where Future Trunks made another visit to the present timeline to warn the Z fighters about a new global threat. Unfortunately, the great threat himself, Black Goku, was able to follow him to the present, formally introducing himself to Goku and the rest of the gang.

The previous "Dragon Ball Super" episode 50 titled "Goku vs. Black! The Path to the Sealed Future" has shown Black Goku travelling from the future timeline to the present to pursue Future Trunks. It was quite a mystery how Black Goku time-travelled without the use of Future Bulma's time Travelling machine. Nevertheless, Black Goku's arrival in the present timeline was the highlight of the episode.

At last, the two versions of the universe powerful Saiyan warrior fought each other. However, it appears that the two Goku's have not yet used their full potential during their brief but intense fight. Also, Black Goku may have said something that will reveal his real character.

As reported by Yibada, Black Goku told to his counterpart that it was a great honor to fight a powerful Saiyan like him. He stated that he wanted to fight Son Goku in his present body. This could suggest that there is a separate entity possessing the body of Son Goku's counterpart from another dimension. Also, Beerus and Whis said that Black Goku's life force is different from Goku's, further supporting the speculation. Still, the real identity of Black Goku has yet to be revealed and more is expected to be known in the coming episodes.

Also, the final scenes of the previous episode revealed that Mai actually survived Black Goku's attack before Future Trunks departed to the present timeline. This raised the possibility that Future Trunks and Mai reunion is still possible. Unfortunately, Black Goku was shown destroying the time travelling machine, thus destroying any chances for Future Trunks to return to his own timeline. With Mai and Future Trunks being on separate timelines, it will be an interesting development if the two will ever be reunited.
