Eminem new album 2016 release date: New album delayed due to lack of inspiration, personal problems?
Given that his last studio album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," was released almost three years ago, Eminem fans are getting impatient and have been clamoring for news of the rap artist's next offering.
But despite numerous reports over the last few years about a possible new project, it now appears that Eminem's next major album won't be on the market anytime soon.
A report from Sportsrageous claims that a lack of inspiration is partly to blame for the new album's delay. According to the outlet, Eminem wants his new album to be "more meaningful" and that he doesn't want to record new songs unless there is something worthwhile to talk about.
Now, it looks like Eminem could be working on his new tracks indefinitely, as the rap icon is said to be lacking inspiration and motivation for his songwriting and struggling to come up with something fresh for his next studio album.
Fans speculate that the singer/songwriter doesn't want to release a sub-par album and would rather delay his next album release instead of unveiling something he can't be 100% proud of.
There are also reports that the album delay could be a consequence, in part, of the artist's personal problems, specifically his ex-wife Kim Mather's recent suicide attempt. According to Us Weekly, during a call to the Detroit radio show "Mojo in the Morning," Mathers admitted that her October 2015 drunk driving accident was, in fact, an attempt at suicide.
During the call, Mathers recounted that she was drinking and had taken "pills" before trying to kill herself by hitting a pole with her car at full speed. She then apologized for the trouble she had caused and said that she had willingly unsealed the files on her driving under the influence (DUI) case because she had nothing to hide.
Eminem's ex-wife also spoke about the rapper, saying, "He's been real supportive."
"We're really close friends," she said, adding, "We're just trying to raise our kids together and make it as normal for them as possible."
Eminem recently announced that for the 16th anniversary of "The Marshall Mathers LP," a limited-edition run of collectibles from his alter ego Slim Shady's childhood home will be put on sale on his online shop. The proceeds from the sale will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which helps at-risk youths all over the United States.
The rapper has not given official details about his next album.
