'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal: New clue pointing to cancellation emerges

Rumor has it that "Girl Meets World" season 4 is not going to happen and Disney Channel's approach with the final season 3 episodes suggest this could be the case.

The final five episodes of the current season are so spread out in a way that the finale of the season will take place next year. This is why there is a big gap between episodes.

This also appears to be something that was planned ever since. After all, a Disney Channel representative said back in July when asked about the "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal that there are episodes up to next year.

"With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," the network rep told TVLine.

There is only one "Girl Meets World" season 3 episode left to air this month and that is "Girl Meets Hollyworld." It will be followed next month with "A Christmas Maya," which is obviously the show's holiday-themed special.

The final three episodes titled "World Meets Girl," "Sweet 16" and the season 3 finale, "Goodbye" will all be aired in January next year.

The lack of news about "Girl Meets World" season 4 with only five episodes left in the current season has many fearing that the "Boy Meets World" spinoff has reached its time.

Add to that the fact that the "Girl Meets World" season 3 finale is titled "Goodbye," which gives the feel that it will be the final episode of the series.

August Maturo, who plays Auggie in the series, even hinted that this will be the case when he expressed his sadness over it, tweeting that he is "not ready" for it.

Rowan Blanchard, who plays titular character Riley, has also hinted the possibility of "Girl Meets World" season 4 not happening right after the season 3 filming wrapped.

The starlet has also been taking on new projects and has recently joined the cast of "A Wrinkle in Time" while her co-star Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Maya, is currently on an album tour that will last several months.

At the moment, "Girl Meets World" season 4 is not officially canceled yet so fans will have to wait for Disney's word on the matter.
