As "Girl Meets World" season 3 progresses, fans are getting closer and closer to the resolution of the love triangle involving Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter).

The writers of "Girl Meets World" recently teased on Twitter that "Josh (Uriah Shelton) plays a big role in upcoming episodes," which hinted that he will be part of the love triangle problem.

For those who need a refresher, Maya had a big crush on Josh. It started in the first season of "Girl Meets World" and was also evident in the second season.

Josh did not think of entertaining Maya's feelings for him because he believes she's too young. This eventually changed and it looked like Josh actually considered looking at Maya as a mature young lady.

There hasn't been any development after that, but it appears that "Girl Meets World" season 3 might continue their story and give this pairing another chance.

According to the writers, the next Josh-Maya moment will take place in the "Girl Meets Ski Lodge" episodes, although the second part of the episode will be bigger for them.

Meanwhile, the writers also teased that Riley and Lucas will share a moment in the same "Girl Meets World" season 3 installment.

In another tweet, the writers tweeted that in the upcoming installments of "Girl Meets World" season 3, three couples will form.

"There are two couples that happen soon and then a third couple that happens because of the two couples," the writers teased.

It is likely that one of the pairs will be Shawn (Rider Strong) and Katy (Cheryl Texiera), who will soon be newlyweds. Fans believe that the other two will involve Maya, Lucas and Riley. It is unknown who ends up with who.

The next episode of "Girl Meets World" season 3 is "Girl Meets True Maya," which will air on Friday, July 15 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on Disney Channel.
