"God's Not Dead 2" is scheduled to be released in the US on the first of April 2016, and a six-minute teaser was recently revealed.

One of the key characters is played by actress Melissa Joan Hart, best known for her role in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and ABC's "Melissa and Joey." Alongside Hart is one of Hollywood's up and coming leading men for TV and film, Jesse Metcalfe. His first big-screen appearance was in "Johnny Tucker Must Die" in 2006. David A. R. White is a part of the film as Rev. Dave, and he is also a producer of the movie.

The synopsis for "God's Not Dead 2" reads: "The Pureflix film centers on a Christian public school teacher (Melissa Joan Hart) who appears in court before a jury and judge for answering a student's question about the similarities of the teachings of Jesus to those of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi."

The creators of the film are in high hopes to reach, if not exceed the level of success "God's Not Dead" achieved in its 2014 release. As per IMDB, the film with a $2 million budget grossed $60 million worldwide.

Pure Flix recently released a trailer to give a glimpse of how the movie's storyline will take shape. The teaser mostly garnered positive feedback, even inspiring some viewers to step up and share their story of being bullied because of their strong faith. Keeping true to the first film, "God's Not Dead 2" remains in a classroom setting. Grace, as played by Melissa Joan Hart, is a teacher at  Martin Luther King Jr. High School. There she will meet people that will indeed change the course of her life.

"God's Not Dead 2" will hit the theaters in the US on April 1, 2016. The six-minute long trailer from Pure Flix can be watched here.
