Google Nexus 7 release date, specs rumors: Device should arrive in 2016

There is a growing rumor that Google will finally announce the latest generation of their Nexus tablet line. According to reports, Google will have its annual I/O Developers Conference on May 18, and tech-savvy gadget enthusiasts are waiting whether Google will unveil other information regarding the specs of the Android tablet, dubbed as Nexus 7 2016. To complement the rumored latest Google Nexus tablet, a latest Android operating system is expected to be unveiled alongside Nexus 7 2016, known for now as Android N or simply version 7.0.

Initial rumors that have been circulating on the internet since last year regarding the designer of Google's upcoming Nexus tablet include Huawei taking over the role as builder. Based on the work forwarded by Huawei with the Nexus 6P, the 7-inch compact tablet can be expected to unbox with casing made of metal and glass, which will be a huge step forward from the first two versions of Nexus. Nexus 7 2016 is also imagined to be packaged in a more premium look with hardware specs rivaling that of Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy tablet line.

If Huawei will indeed have the honors of assembling the new Nexus 7 2016, it is likely that the power inside will be a Kirin processing chip. But Android fans are expecting too of Snapdragon processor and it will be a toss between the 810 and the 820, the latter if Google decides to become generous.

If the rumors were true that Huawei will actually be the masterhead in the creation of 'Nexus 7 2016', it seems more likely that the tablet will be powered by a Kirin processing chip. However, there are also speculations from other Android fans that Nexus 7 2016 is expected to have a Snapdragon processor with a toss between the 810 and 820. 

As big companies such as Apple Macintosh, Microsoft and Samsung are all thinking of better designs of their gadgets every year, Google will be put under pressure to propel this rumored Nexus tablet.
