Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 has already ended, and "Halo" fans waiting for updates on the sixth installment in the "Halo" series haven't gotten any word from the developers throughout the three-day event.

The anticipated sequel to developer 343 Industries' "Halo" series had been initially expected to be announced at the event. Yet, recent reports already predicted that this would not be the case.

Sources say the game will not be coming anytime soon as the game is still far from finish. Frank O' Connor, the development director for the franchise, confirmed that they do not have any definite features for their next game yet. He also divulged that the developing team is currently still in the planning and writing stage. This makes it impossible for the game to be released this year.

Also, 343 Industries has been busy with their updates for "Halo 5." The latest expansion has been confirmed and its title is "Halo 5: Warzone Firefight. The developers revealed through a blog post that they are presently finishing up and refining the features of the expansion.

Gamers can expect to see some new places as well as new weapons in the DLC, which is said to be the largest release ever in the series. It will be coming with a PvE mode, new game features and updates, Forge updates and many more. The exact release date of the expansion has not been revealed yet.

But while "Halo 5" is progressing with the expansion, there's a possibility that "Halo 6" will no longer be happening. The Bit Bag detailed that Microsoft's sales with "Halo 5: Guardians" last year did not do so well. This may cause them to abort working on the sixth installment unless they are able to hit the company's sales target.

There were also rumors saying that "Halo 5" will get a PC version. However, as noted in PC Gamer, the game will not be getting the PC version this time. Xbox head Phil Spencer stated that it's a different experience in the PC.
