There may still be hope for parents whose kids put the latest toy craze — Hatchimals — on top of their Christmas wish list. While almost all stores, big or small, have run out of stocks, some of the major retailers are reportedly expecting more shipments to arrive during the holidays.

The official website for Hatchimals states that a new batch is expected in 2017, but giant store chains Target and Toys "R" Us are expecting to be able to sell some more of the toys in time for Christmas.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Target posted a promotional photo for Hatchimals with a message that reads, "Psst, something's hatching in the toy aisle next week." In response to a question in the comments section, Target also stated, "Item availability can vary from store to store. Please visit your local Target for availability.

According to WKBW, an unnamed source from Target said, "Target is continuing to replenish Hatchimals throughout the season."

The news outlet also reported that Toys "R" Us spokesperson has confirmed that they will replenish their shelves with more Hatchimals at different times during the holidays.

Last Sunday, many parents lined up for hours at Toys "R" Us throughout the United States after the company announced that it would have more Hatchimals available on that day. Some even camped out outside the stores to make sure that they would get their hands on one. Unfortunately, many went home empty-handed as most of the stores had only limited quantities of Hatchimals.

Many of those who trooped to Toys "R" Us last Sunday took to Twitter to post about their experiences. One Twitter user shared that there were 200 of them who lined up but only 60 Hatchimals were in stock. Another posted a photo of a man and a young girl holding a Hatchimal, stating that they lined up from 6 p.m. the previous day.

Hatchimals are interactive toys that are bought as eggs. They are hatched and raised as kids take care and play with them. They come in five different breeds, namely Pengualas, Draggles, Owlicorns, Burtles, and Bearakeets.
