'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 spoilers, plot news: Heart-stopping stunt footages, premiere title revealed

Production for "Hawaii Five-0" season 7 is already in full swing, and it's only a matter of months before the long-running police procedural makes its much-awaited comeback to the small screen.

In an Instagram post, series creator Peter Lenkov gave fans a teaser of what's to come when the series premieres this Fall. The short video clip shows a heart-stopping rooftop chase scene with a caption that reads: "Every year we try to outdo ourselves on #H50 - looks like this year the challenge is met. Here's a tiny taste from the premiere..."

Lenkov posted another clip of the same scene from a different perspective, showing the stunt man as he jumps through the window of an abandoned building. Both footages are from the season 7 premiere titled "Mākaukau Ê»oe e Pāʻani" which can be translated to "Ready to Play."

Despite the viewers' excitement over the new season up ahead, rumor has it that season 7 will also mark the show's end. CBS has yet to issue a statement about this matter, but the continuous dip in ratings season after season may lead the network to pull the plug in the near future. Figures obtained by TV Series Finale show that when "Hawaii Five-0" moved to the Friday timeslot, ratings sunk significantly. Season 5 had an average of 9.48 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic, but it dropped to 8.71 million viewers when season 6 aired.

Hopefully, the new season will attract more viewers to keep the show on air beyond season 7. Lenkov previously emphasized that the main theme will be "Legacy" after McGarrett's near-death experience. While recovering from his serious injuries, McGarrett will have time to analyze his life and his relationship with others. His new perspective in life might reverberate to the other team members and affect them in some way.

Tune in to the season 7 premiere of "Hawaii Five-0" which airs on Friday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
