iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 5 release date, specs rumors: Both devices will be slimmer and lighter?

Many people were disappointed when Apple did not include the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 in their series of revelation at the company's event last March 21. Many people expected both models to come out this year; however, after the said event, fans are no longer sure if these devices will ever be released.

Despite the uncertainty, rumors about the devices are still circulating all over the Internet, which gave positivity to the millions of Apple users all over the world. New speculations suggest that the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 will feature a slimmer and lighter design.

According to Macworld, the iPad Mini 5 is going to be thinner than its previous models. It is said that the device will definitely carry a new chassis, which is rumored to be similar to that of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The tech publication has also stated that the device may come with a smaller battery to go along with its lighter design. There are also reports suggesting that the gadget will come with 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display technology. Although these features were not confirmed by the Cupertino-based company, many fans believe that the 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display technology is going to be the highlight of the future iPad series designs.

Aside from the awesome features, the iPad Mini 5 is also expected to boast the new A9 processor under the hood.

Meanwhile, everybody already knows that the iPad Air 3 is the new iPad Pro. TechAdvisor reported that the new device will also sport impressive specs under the hood, which is headed by its A9X chip. It will also have the Apple Pencil support to go along with its four-speaker audio system.

The iPad Air 3 will come in three different colors according to Tech Advisor – Gold, silver and space. However, a rose gold version may also be added to the list when the device finally comes out in the market.
