Developer Square Enix will showcase "Kingdom Hearts 3" at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 with a trailer showing the current status of the game. However, a release date might not be revealed there.

There are rumors going around that the latest "Kingdom Hearts" iteration's release date will remain a mystery at the event. Instead, the developer will reportedly make the launch date announcement after the event. It is unclear as to when exactly that will take place and why Square Enix won't talk about this important aspect there.

However, fans should already know that the earliest date that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will fall April 2017 being the earliest. Square Enix's current fiscal year lineup, which ends on the said month, does not include the action role-playing game.

Media outlets hope that although the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" will still be a big secret come the event, Square Enix will treat fans with information on the worlds that will be included.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is getting fans excited mostly because of the worlds it will feature. So far, many of these worlds are still kept secret, but there are a lot of speculations and wish lists.

Fans hope that Darth Vader and the "Star Wars" universe will somehow end up in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as well as some characters from the Marvel universe.

Both Disney-owned franchises have enjoyed massive exposure in the past months so it would be amazing to see them in the game too. However, their inclusion in "Kingdom Hearts 3" is still unconfirmed, just like the supposed addition of "Toy Story" or "Frozen."

"Kingdom Hearts 3" was first announced at E3 2013, but talks about the game started as early as 2006. Ever since the game was confirmed, fans have been patiently waiting for the game to arrive.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will not be released this year so there's still a long way to go. Fans hope that Square Enix has a lot in store about the game on E3, scheduled June 14 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
