'Left 4 Dead 3' release date news update: Valve employee leaks 'L4D3' plans? Expected to be released next year?

Many gamers were expecting that Valve would present the much-awaited continuation of the "Left 4 Dead" game series at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Unfortunately, the game developer company made no mention of "Left 4 Dead 3" during the huge electronic gaming event last month. Many fans believe that Valve has already put the game franchise to rest, but according to the latest rumors, it seems that there is still hope for a third game.

Just recently, a Valve employee has unknowingly spilled the big "L4D3" secret when a screenshot from his own computer was leaked online. The particular screenshot shows a folder named as "left4dead3." The fansite called ValveTimes was among the first to take notice of the suspicious screenshot from Valve's concept artist Tristan Reidford, Game Spot reported. As "Left 4 Dead 3" is such an anticipated game title, the image went viral right away, forcing Reidford to replace his shared images with the one that does not show the "left4dead3" folder.

Many fans speculate that "Left 4 Dead 3" is already under development because of the screenshot image. It is because "L4D3" is already in the hands of Valve's concept artist, that is basing on the suspicious folder from the screenshot. However, Reidford refused to give any explanation regarding the picture, although that alone could raise a few eyebrows due to a possible non-disclosure measures by the company while the game is still under development.

This is not the first time that a person affiliated or formerly involved with Valve has given hints of a third "Left 4 Dead" video game. An ex-Valve employee named Minh Le, also known as "Gooseman," already revealed that Valve is already working on a follow-up video game after "Left 4 Dead 2." According to Express UK, Valve wants to develop fresh and exciting ideas that should be included in "Left 4 Dead 3." While Valve has not confirmed a new "L4D" sequel, Gooseman said that "Left 4 Dead 3" is set to be released in 2017.
