'Mortal Kombat X' Kombat Pack 3 release date news update: DLC reportedly delayed, 'Injustice 2' to blame?

The long-awaited "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 was reportedly delayed due to "Injustice 2," as the sequel is the focus of developer NetherRealms Studios.

The downloadable content (DLC) was expected to be unveiled at the EVO 2016 last month, thanks to a hint by creator Ed Boon. Obviously, this did not come to fruition much to the disappointment of fans.

He then said that he "never planned" to show anything about the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 on EVO although he assured that "big news is coming."

It appears that NetherRealms has a lot going on right now, especially with "Injustice 2" set for release. This is why the "Mortal Kombat X" DLC is taking so long to arrive.

Boon admitted that things got a bit hectic at the office, resulting to why he has nothing to share about the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 just yet.

"We're very busy. Because Mortal Kombat X, we've extended its support even further than all the other games. It's actually overlapping into our next game, Injustice 2," he explained during a PlayStation Blogcast.

There is a great expectation with regards to "Injustice 2" and it appears that NetherRealms has a lot of big plans for the game that its focus was directed to it completely.

The subject of "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 started when he did a poll he did in May on Twitter on which fans would prefer the studio would do next. The DLC got the highest votes.

Save for a few teases here and there, Boon never really went into detail as far as the release date of the Kombat Pack. However, he was still doing polls online about the game.

On the latest one, Boon asked fans about what news about "Mortal Kombat X" they would want to hear most about.

It was revealed that fans want "Mortal Kombat XL" for the personal computer (PC) with GGPO (Good Game Peace Out) for lagless experience.

The second choice was the balance or buff for fighters while ESL Tournament season 4 came in last.
