It's voting season in the upcoming second episode of Fox's hit comedy series "New Girl" season 6.

Titled "Hubbedy Bubby," the next episode will introduce guest stars Nasim Pedrad ("Scream Queens") and Kate Flannery ("The Office"). According to the official synopsis, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Cece (Hannah Simone) will get involved in the campaign trail. To make things more exciting, they make a bet with a disbelieving Schmidt (Max Greenfield) that they can be successful in recruiting voters for the upcoming Presidential election. Elsewhere, Winston (Lamorne Morris) spends time with Nick (Jake Johnson) to teach him everything he has to know about modern phone sex.

Last week's premiere was made extra special because the show's lead actress Zooey Deschanel directed the said episode. Although it was Deschanel's first time to sit in the director's chair, she described the experience as "really great" and at the same time fun. Speaking with People magazine, the actress admitted that her directorial debut was challenging, but she was lucky enough to have people working behind the camera to assist her.

"I didn't want to take too much time to be watching playback because it takes a lot of time, and I wanted to make sure I was really focusing on the other actors," she told the media outlet. "Luckily, we have a directing producer and I kind of let him be a barometer for me."

As the show moves forward, Deschanel said fans should keep tuning in since they've "got a lot of good episodes coming up." One of those interesting episodes is the show's upcoming crossover with Andy Samberg's cop comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" scheduled to air next month.

"Schmidt [Max Greenfield] is receiving an award from his old high school and the entire gang from L.A. has come to New York," executive producer Dan Goor told Entertainment Weekly. "In our scene, Jake needs to commandeer a vehicle that's driven by a girl. Who's that girl? It's Jess!"

While only Jess will crossover to "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," Jake, Holt, Charles, and Chelsea Peretti's Gina will make an appearance in "New Girl."

The sixth season of "New Girl" airs every Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
