Nintendo NX release date, news, rumors: Nintendo to spill NX details this October?

After Wii U, Nintendo is set to release a new console that is expected to be the biggest one yet from the company. | NINTENDO

As of this writing, Nintendo has not yet made an official announcement regarding the arrival of the much anticipated Nintendo NX. Dubbed as the most powerful console yet from the company, the Nintendo NX is reported to be released in the early part of 2017. However, it is also rumored that the Japanese electronic gaming company's next big console after the Wii U will be showcased before yearend.

As reported by WCCF Tech, there are hints that the Nintendo NX is likely to hit the March 2017 target release date. Before the console is officially released in the market early next year, it is possible that Nintendo will proceed with the official announcement for NX later this year. Particularly, the company may announce Nintendo NX this October. This is contrary to earlier speculations by Forbes that Nintendo is currently having issues in developing NX, thus the console may be delayed from the March 2017 target date.

The online publication also mentioned a known tech insider, Emily Rogers, claiming that Nintendo NX will not suffer a delay, and instead will be unveiled in a special event next month. Moreover, Rogers revealed that the Nintendo NX will be "region-free," as the console's prototype is rumored to have 32GB of internal storage. The prototype that will be showcased in October is also said to have 6.2″ 720P Multi-Touch screen. As for the console's Dock Station, Rogers claimed that it should have at least two USB ports.

The October announcement of the Nintendo NX may just be the perfect timing for the company, especially that Nintendo is trying to beat the March 2017 target release at all cost. The six months allowance in between the announcement and the anticipated release of NX in March will be enough to build up the hype among the users, Tech Times has noted.

According to Express UK, Nintendo NX may be bringing back the game cartridges from the 90's home consoles. Instead of using discs, the console will read cartridges to play the game. Lastly, the Nintendo NX controllers may sport an advanced vibration feature, just like the Wii remote.
