'One Punch Man' season 2 release date: Season 1 English dub coming first to Toonami

News about "One Punch Man" season 2 has been scarce, but there are good tidings for those who haven't gotten the chance to watch the first season.

During the Anime Expo 2016, it was announced that the English dub of "One Punch Man" season 1 is coming to the west via Toonami on Saturday, July 16.

The first season of "One Punch Man" premiered October last year and ended two months later with a total of 12 episodes. Since then, many fans in North America have been waiting for the English dub of the anime.

The announcement was definitely a surprise, and the best part for viewers is that it won't be a long wait ahead. Unfortunately for those waiting for new episodes, the same cannot be said in "One Punch Man" season 2.

According to reports, the new season will premiere later this year, presumably around the same time the first season aired. Anime Expo 2016 had no details to provide regarding that.

However, there are rumors that "One Punch Man" manga and anime artist Yusuke Murata has already started working on "One Punch Man" season 2 since last year, particularly shortly after the first season ended.

Murata and his team reportedly devoted 10 hours every day to finish a hundred sketches, storyboards and inked pages for "One Punch Man" season 2 for, showing their determination to bring the anime's continuation to fans.

There have been a lot of rumors lately on what storylines the new season will include. "One Punch Man" season 2 will reportedly bring in Saitama's strongest opponent yet – Garou.

Unlike the villains Saitama encountered in the past, this newcomer can take more than one punch from the world's strongest hero, hinting that he is a force to be reckoned with.
