'One Punch Man Season 2 spoilers rumors: Saitama to join 'civil war' of Earth's mightiest heroes

There have been rumors keeping the anime fans abuzz that the second season of hit anime series "One Punch Man" is going to be released this year. Amid the rumors of a new season coming up soon, there are reports that the storyline of "One Punch Man" will involve a huge civil war among the strongest heroes of Earth. The protagonist Saitama is expected to join the war and he may even go head to head against his most trusted follower, Genos.

As noted byYibada, the "One Punch Man" webcomic created by ONE has now been introduced to the "Hero Hunter" arc after Saitama defeated Gorou. This new arc features a new organization of humans with extraordinary strength and skills known as the Hero Hunters. The new group of superhumans was shown to be coming in conflict with the existing Heroes' Association. The tension between the two groups escalated when Heroes' Association saw Hero Hunters as a threat when the latter began to recruit members that have potential of becoming S-class heroes.

Genos, however, has started to question the good intentions of the Heroes' Association because of the existing corruption within the group. This is where the clash of the heroes will start as the heroes will find themselves on opposite sides. 

As the rumors are suggesting that Season 2 will pick up the Hero Hunter story arc, there are also some reports saying that the upcoming season will be somewhat like a spin-off to this arc and will not necessarily cover the entire story of Hero Hunter.

Another possible scenario for Season 2 reported by the Bitbag is that the viewers will be shown more about Saitama's origins. This will include his experiences as a human before he actually lose his hair and became a hero. It is known for the viewers of the opening season of "One Punch Man" that the origin of Saitama was not covered except for some brief flashbacks that did not say much about his past.
