'Pretty Little Liars' season 7 spoilers, plot news: EP hints major character's death, Lindsay Shaw to return as Paige McCullers; show already in its farewell season?
"Pretty Little Liars" will soon return to the small screen with all-new episodes, and viewers can expect a lot of loose ends to be resolved in the upcoming season 7.
Executive producer Marlene King recently caught up with TV Line to discuss some details regarding how the new season will play out.
"This is still the most romantic, but also the deadliest, season of Pretty Little Liars," said King."We don't take deaths lightly here, so everyone who dies does so for a very impactful and important reason." Given how deaths are treated in the show's storyline, King noted that the actor's attitude regarding someone's death has shifted over the years. She explained that they are more accepting about it, and a death even signifies as a "badge of honor" to some.
The EP did not want to give away too much clues about what happens to Hanna, but she stated: "Hanna's fate really informs the rest of the season moving forward."
Meanwhile, actress Lindsay Shaw is set to return for the show's seventh and potentially final season, reprising her role as Emily Fields' ex-girlfriend Paige McCullers. She moved away to avoid "A" back in season 5, but she will be back to appear in a few episodes starting with episode 8. Details about her story arc are being kept under wraps, but since Emily was single in the previous season, there is a possibility that their romance will be rekindled.
As for rumors surrounding the show's impending end, King stressed that as of the moment, their primary focus is on the upcoming season only. "We're thinking right now about going out with a bang and ending this storyline in a way that is satisfying for everyone who works here, everyone who watches. That's my immediate goal. And that's all I'm 100 percent focused on right now," she added.
