"Scandal" season 6 is still far away from its premiere date but there are already hints on what may possibly happen next in the political drama series. The previous season left off with Olivia (Kerry Washington) no longer in a relationship and Jake (Scott Foley) back in the scenes. This could mean that Jake and Olivia might have a potential future together.

Foley is also agreeing with the speculations. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Foley expressed his opinion about Olivia and Jake, believing that the two are meant to be with each other.

"I'm going to be very unpopular in saying this: I think Olivia has chosen Jake," Foley said. "There is no question in my mind that she's chosen Jake. Proof of that for me is the day he was going to get married," he added.

Fans may recall that Olivia and Jake were planning to run away. Jake will leave his fiancée at the altar and he and Olivia will live their lives together. That was the plan until Rowan (Joe Morton), Olivia's father, threatened his daughter with Jake's life.

This left Olivia with no choice but to stop her feelings. Foley pointed out that Olivia had made it clear throughout the season that Jake is the one she wants to be with. But she had to give it up and told Jake that she doesn't love him and that she never loved him.

She also told him that it was Fitz that she loves. But it's not all over for Olivia and Jake. Spoilers suggest that the two will be working together if Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) becomes the next president of the United States.

Meanwhile, rumors about a pregnant Olivia storyline may not be happening. Washington is currently pregnant with her second child and this led many to believe that the producers will incorporate her pregnancy into the story. However, as reported by E! Online, the series has been pushed to midseason for Washington's pregnancy leave. This means that there is no need to address the baby bump on screen at all.

"Scandal" season 6 will premiere sometime in 2017.
