'The 100' season 4 spoilers: new trailer hints at the dangers of Mother Nature hitting back
February cannot come any sooner as "The 100" teases a deadly fourth season with a recently released trailer.
In just half a minute, the clip drives the overall desperate tone presumably for the whole of season 4 for Clarke and the rest of her gang. With the world turning toward the worse, everyone is clamoring to devise their own way to survive or at least stay alive longer than everybody else. What is tricky in this budding central premise is that instead of fighting a human antagonist, people are up against a bigger, definitely more dangerous foe in the very world that they are inhabiting.
In a feature with TVLine's spoiler roundup, executive producer Jason Rothenberg backs up the promo clip reiterating that they crafted "The 100" season 4 in a way that the main conflict come from the presumably nuclear destruction of the people's very home.
"The world is the obstacle," he stated, "mother nature is finally striking back in the form of this nuclear death wave."
While the post-apocalyptic show does not shy away from the nitty gritty of the genre, it is important to note that on top of not pulling any punches, it seems that they even increased the stakes in season 4. Even with the minor trajectories for the character, such as with Clarke who faces resentment from her people over her killing of A.L.I.E., will also be fleshed out.
On top of that, Bellamy is also expected to realize that his past deeds "weren't necessarily the right ones" — something that may actually tie in with his sister Octavia and the two eventually mending their relationship. As previously reported, the siblings might be trying to work things out but it will be taking quite a while before they can be back on the same page. More so with Octavia struggling to find herself after Lincoln's death at the hands of Pike.
"The 100" season 4 will have a total of 13 episodes and scheduled to be back on the CW on Feb. 1.
