The highly anticipated "The Elder Scrolls 6" has been all over the gaming news for quite some time now. Avid fans have been waiting for game developer Bethesda Game Studios to announce the sixth installment of the open world action role-playing video game series for several years. Fans were certainly excited when reports came out that the game is under development. However, according to the latest buzz, the upcoming title is not currently in the works.

This latest news definitely made many fans disappointed. Pete Hines, vice president of PR and Marketing for Bethesda recently revealed through his social media post that the company is not working on "The Elder Scrolls 6." Hines added that Bethesda is currently working on other major titles under the company. Apparently, the development of the sixth installment of the franchise will not start until the firm is done with other titles, which are currently what they are focusing on.

However, Hines made it clear that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is definitely going to happen. As to when will it come out? Hines and the rest of the company could not provide the details as of the moment.

Prior to the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, many players expected Bethesda to announce or at least provide significant details about the game. Although the fans were disappointed that the company decided to skip the upcoming game at the event, they are still hopeful that Bethesda will soon provide concrete details about the upcoming title anytime soon.

In a report by Kitguru, Todd Howard, the director of The Elder Scrolls, revealed that the 5th sequel may take more time to develop.

"It's a very long way off," said Howard. "It's something that's going to take a lot of time, what we have in mind for that game."

Meanwhile, Bethesda will release a remastered version of the current "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" on Oct. 28 for PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
