'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date delay update: May not happen this year; 'Fallout 4'-like setting rumors debunked

Since the release of its latest installment, "The Elder Scrolls 6" is taking a long time coming out and for gamers to wait for it this year might turn out to be in vain.

It was earlier reported that Pete Hines, vice-president for PR and marketing at Bethesda, already announced that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be happening yet not too soon. But apart from this confirmation, the game development company is keeping details under wraps, while the rumor mills suggest that the big showcasing of the next "The Elder Scrolls" installment will be at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) happening on June 14 to 16. Yet, taking into consideration the other titles which Bethesda is said to be prioritizing, the delay in the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6" will likely be prolonged.

On the other hand, Hines divulged a few exciting details about the game. He says that the game development will follow patterns that are already established, which suggests that the speculation about the setting of "The Elder Scrolls 6" being similar to that of "Fallout 4" is untrue. This debunks previous reports claiming that the next "The Elder Scrolls" title will have "Fallout 4"-like settlement settings.

It can be recalled that "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn" was the last installment of the game released in 2012, and nothing followed after that except for "The Elder Scrolls Online" in 2014 and "The Elder Scrolls Legends" this year. This leaves gamers with the big question of when "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be released.

For now, it is uncertain whether or not gamers have something to look forward to from Bethesda regarding "The Elder Scrolls 6" at the imminent E3 2016. Should the game developer decide to not keep fans hanging with unanswered questions, it would then dispel rumors and speculations and instead raise excitement for the game.
