"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is currently in hiatus, but will be back next week for the latter episodes, which will mark the end of the series.

The series will be back with episode 8, "We Have History Together." In this episode, Stefan (Paul Wesley) will fully embrace his devilish fate.

The promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 8, "We Have History Together," shows the younger Salvatore killing for Cade (Wole Parks) with one of his victims a nurse.

He and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) appears to have attended a support group, where all the members will likely end up being dead bodies.

Interestingly, the promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 8 also shows Stefan taking out his brother and putting him in some sort of a medical facility.

There is a doctor there too played by "The Lying Game" alum Alexandra Chando. It is unclear what her role will be, but rumor has it that she could be a big part of the series from here on out.

According to speculations, Chando has a striking resemblance to none other than Nina Dobrev, whose return as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 remains unconfirmed.

It is believed that their semblance and the fact that Chando's character is a doctor, which is something that Elena had always wanted to be, might play out this season as somehow being connected to Elena Gilbert.

After all, the character's story appears to be connected to Damon. In fact, she was seen injecting Damon something in the promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 8 as he pleaded he get a chance to redeem himself.

Fans, however, fear that the newcomer will take Elena's place. However, it is too early to say that for now as not much is known about the new "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 character.

Unless CW reveals during the hiatus, fans will have to wait until Friday, Jan. 13 (8 p.m. ET) to learn more about who Chando is playing and what she will be up to in "We Have History Together."
