'Transformers: Rescue Bots' season 4 news: Release date, preview and first female rescue bot revealed
Popular children's TV series "Transformers: Rescue Bots" will be back for season 4, and it is set to premiere this month. Viewers will also meet two new characters this season, with one of them as the first female rescue bot named Quickshadow.
The series will feature back-to-back episodes entitled "New Normal" and "Bride Building," respectively. In the pilot episode, the Rescue bots are forced to expose their extraterrestrial background to the citizens of Griffin Rock due to an alien attack. With that event, the people are left to decide if they want the Bots to stay of leave the town. The fourth season will give the spotlight on the Bots as they construct the Mainland Training Center. In the preview released by Discovery Family Channel, Heatwave and his team will continue to be in Griffin Rock even in the subsequent episodes.
Along with the upcoming 100th episode, viewers should also look forward to the two new Bots gracing the show. According to a report by Yahoo TV, the show will have its first female Rescue Bot named Quickshadow. The character will be voiced by actress Alex Kingston, who is best known for her work in "ER" and "Doctor Who." Another new Bot will join the gang named Chickadee, who will be voiced by "The Last Man on Earth" and "Bob's Burgers" star Kristen Schaal.
Zap2it revealed the synopses for the first two episodes, which are as follows:
"Episode 79 (season 4, episode 1): "New Normal" - April 23 - Three years after the Rescue Bots arrived on Earth, an alien attack forces them to make a decision if they will reveal their true natures to the citizens of Griffin Rock.
Episode 80 (season 4, episode 2): "Bridge Building" - April 23 - The citizens of Griffin Rock are deciding whether or not to let the Bots stay in their midst when a GroundBridge accident splits the team."
The fourth season of the Emmy and Annie Award-nominated "Transformers: Rescue Bots" airs April 23 at 8 a.m. on Discovery Family Channel. The series preview can be watched here.
