Australia's prison drama TV series "Wentworth" will soon be launching its fifth season. Fans are crossing their fingers for a miracle. After Bea's (Danielle Cormack) death, fans are hoping that the showrunners will resurrect their favorite inmate.

In an interview with After Ellen, Kate Jenkinson, who portrays Bea's girlfriend, Allie, revealed that the intense ending was just as surprising for her. She told the news outlet, "I certainly didn't see it coming, and I don't think anybody did. I think my reaction was very similar to that of the fans when I first found out. I was completely blindsided, and I thought, 'Okay, how does this work? How does a show continue without the central character?'"

The actress also revealed that they were only given ample information about what their character is going to do. But ultimately, they still don't know the general flow of the show by reading their scripts alone. Jenkinson said that this makes things more exciting.

Eventually, Cormack convinced Jenkinson about the necessary fatality. When Cormack talked to her about it, she began to realize that the show is veering towards the right direction. Since "Wentworth" is a prison drama, it is appropriate to portray the setting as it truly is — a dangerous, cut-throat world.

Jenkinson told After Ellen, "No one is safe, even if you're Top Dog. Even if you're the central character. So I think it's a really brave choice for the producers to have made. And we'll see! We'll see what the outcome of that is. But personally, I like watching television that takes risks, and I feel like that's what we've done here."

If the lead character wasn't safe, that only means that the show is bound to see more deaths in the episodes to come. Who will be the next to die?

The fifth season of "Wentworth" is expected to return to the small screen on May 10, 2017.
