Jeremy Lin prays for his teammates' salvation
NBA star Jeremy Lin has asked for prayers for his teammates. The Charlotte Hornets backup guard posted the request on a digital prayer group named "Jeremy Lin Prayer Requests", where he shares his prayer topics, Gospel Herald reported.
"Please pray for our team that the Holy Spirit would soften the hearts of my non-believing teammates and to sanctify the lives of the believers," the 27-year-old wrote.
Lin kicked off the new year with a mission to evanglize his teammates who have not yet received Christ as their Lord and Savior. Since opening a small Bible study with the team, he has been active in asking for prayers for them.
The former Harvard standout requested prayers for the group to "grow in vulnerability, accountability, and community."
Aside from his team's study group, Lin also asked for prayers for parts of the world that have been hit by tragedies, calamities and natural phenomena. He particularly asked for supernatural healing for two people, Cathy and Ava, who are both battling serious health complications.
The Hornets player also thanked the Lord for the recent holidays, where every believer was reminded that once in their life, they have received Christ as their Lord and Savior.
"We received the greatest gift we could ever receive in Jesus Christ, born to us as a child to die on the cross for our sins and rise from the grave to overcome sin and death," he wrote.
Finally, he asked for prayers for him to become peaceful, happy and content in his current situation. He shared that regardless of life's circumstances, Bible verses such as Psalm 16:5 and Ephesians 2:10 have given him joy.
