Amy Duggar Says Shedding Family Name a 'Relief'
Amy Duggar, cousin to the famed reality show Duggar family, said in a recent interview that it is "relief" to be shed of her maiden last name after she married fiancé Dillon King.
Duggar married this past weekend, and told Entertainment Tonight that leaving behind the Duggar family name reduces a lot of stress in her life.
"It's a relief," Amy told the media outlet. "It feels like the stress is gone. I don't have to be perfect anymore. I don't have to worry about wearing long skirts. And I got to marry my best friend!"
The Duggar family gathered on Sunday in Bentonville, Arkansas to celebrate Duggar's nuptials. Anna Duggar, the wife of embattled Josh Duggar, was photographed attending the wedding with her children.
Recently, it was revealed that Josh, son to Michelle and Jim Bob, held two accounts on the Ashley Madison extramarital affair website and also admitted to a pornography addiction.
Amy added to Entertainment Tonight that she tried to make Anna and the Duggar family feel as welcome as possible at her nuptials.
"I gave Anna a huge hug," Amy said, adding "I gave my Aunt Michelle a huge hug. And I got them gifts to make them feel welcome — I gave Anna a gift card to get her nails done — she deserves to pamper herself. I gave Aunt Michelle a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant. We're really thankful they came."
