A religious freedom billboard in Times Square, New York City will be sending a religious message to viewers this New Year's Eve.

The apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis has sponsored a billboard in Times Square that will be posted from December 30 until January 1, 2015. The billboard reads: "To all our intolerant liberal friends: Thank God for Freedom."

The billboard, which will also feature a blue digital screen and a giant cross, can be seen next to where the ball will drop at midnight to ring in the New Year.

Answers in Genesis has said that the billboard doesn't apply only to Christians, but to all people of faith around the world who hope to have religious freedom.

"I am thrilled that the Cross of Christ will be seen in the most-watched place in the world on this day," Ken Ham, president of Answers in Genesis, told The Christian Post.

Ham also addressed the billboard on the Answers in Genesis Facebook page, writing: "As you're watching the ball drop at Times Square on New Year's Eve on TV, our brand new animated digital billboard message of freedom will be playing right there."

"The board's message is meant to confront and challenge people about threats to America's freedom of religion and freedom of speech — and publicly and unashamedly stand for the gospel message that the Cross (shown on the board) represents."

On January 2nd, the billboard will be moved to a different Times Square location above the Disney Store.
