The continuing investigation into the recent car accident involving reality television star Bruce Jenner indicates that Jenner was travelling at a speed of 38 miles per hour when he rear ended another driver earlier this month.

The accident happened earlier this month on Pacific Coast Highway near Los Angeles, California, when Jenner's SUV rear-ended a Lexus, which in turn spun into oncoming traffic. The driver of the Lexus, Kim Howe, was killed as a result of the accident.

Media outlets are reporting that sources close to the investigation of Jenner's accident indicate the reality television star will not be charged for vehicular manlaughter in Howe's death. Jenner was reportedly not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident, nor was he speeding or texting.

Rather, authorities are suggesting that Jenner may have been following too close to Howe's rear bumper when he rear-ended her.

Diagnostic tests from Jenner's SUV indicate that the car was traveling at a speed of 46 to 47 miles per hour moments before the crash. Jenner reportedly attempted to slow his speed to 38 miles per hour when he saw cars stopping ahead of him, but still rear ended the Lexus.

At the time of the incident, Jenner released a statement saying he would "pray" for the victims of the crash.

"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident," the 65-year-old said in a statement via his publicist, Alan Nierob.

"It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible."
