Christian film and television studio Pure Flix Entertainment has expressed interest in picking up Tim Allen's sitcom "Last Man Standing," after it was canceled last week despite its high ratings.

Earlier this month, ABC made a surprise announcement that it would cancel "Last Man Standing," which has been running on the network for six years. ABC News Entertainment President Channing Dungey said that the reason for canceling the popular sitcom was because the network was moving away from comedies on Friday nights.

On Thursday, Pure Flix took to Facebook to ask its followers what they thought about adding the show to its lineup.

"Do YOU think Tim Allen and his producers should take a look at #PureFlix as a new home for #LastManStanding?" the Christian entertainment studio asked.

Faithwire noted that the response has been overwhelmingly positive, and many comments were in favor of moving the show to Pure Flix.

The Facebook post linked to an article titled "Hey Tim Allen, Have Your People Call Our People!" that was posted on the studio's website.

Pure Flix noted in the article that there have been rumors that Fox tried to pick up the show, but there have been no developments about the issue.

"We hope Tim Allen and 'Last Man Standing' finds a new home soon. But if things don't work out with Fox, maybe it's time to take a look at PureFlix.com as an alternative to the networks!" Pure Flix wrote.

Deadline reported that the sitcom has ranked number two on ABC, averaging 8.1 million viewers in its last season.

"Last Man Standing" has been hailed as one of the few shows that portray conservative values in a positive light.

In the show, Allen plays Mike Baxter, a political conservative and devout Christian who adheres to traditional American values.

Some have speculated that a "liberal social agenda" played a part in the show's cancellation. Former Gov. of Arkansas Mike Huckabee said that it was the "only show in prime time that presents a conservative point of view without attacking it and makes fun of PC liberals."

Many fans have expressed disappointment over the cancellation of the show, including Allen himself, who tweeted, "Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years. #lastmanstanding."

More than 355,000 people have already signed a petition, urging ABC to bring back the program.
