\"Code Black\" | CBS

New faces are going to be introduced on "Code Black" when it returns to the small screen soon for its second season. The medical drama television series is going through some changes and that includes the replacement of the lead roles.

Previous reports revealed that the show had to let go of Raza Jaffrey and Bonnie Somerville. No specific reasons were released for their exit but some speculate that it has something to do with budget. But more than that, it is said that the show is trying to resemble real-life resident and physician life wherein they tend to come and go in a hospital.

According to Deadline, the three new actors that will be joining in to portray major recurring roles are Nafessa Williams ("Twin Peaks"), Noah Gray-Cabey ("Heroes: Reborn") and Emily Tyra ("Flesh and Bone"). They will be playing as the new residents at the Emergency Room of Angels Memorial Hospital.

Gray-Cabey will be playing as Elliot Han, who is described to be a "sweet and affable" new doctor. He is said to be someone who does very well in the academics. However, when it comes to dealing with the cases that burst through the doors of the emergency room in the hospital, he gets greatly overwhelmed with what he has to face.

Meanwhile, Tyra will be playing the character named Dr. Noa Kean. She's described to be no typical doctor as she is said to be a street-smart person who enjoys surfing. She's also at the top of her class at California University despite the fact that she lives in a difficult neighborhood. Moreover, she is also defined as someone who is confident and a little rebellious. She sticks true to who she is and accepts no tolerance for the "foolish" or the "over privileged."

Last but not the least is Williams who will portray the role of Charlotte Piel. She is revealed to be a former child star of an iconic movie franchise. She decided to leave the spotlight and pursued medicine. She's back in Los Angeles to bring her service to Angels Memorial.

"Code Black" season 2 will premiere on Sept. 28 on CBS.
