Country music singer Luke Bryan has reportedly taken on the responsibility of raising his young nephew after an in-law recently passed away, orphaning the child.

Bryan said in a recent interview that he and his wife, Caroline, have decided to take in the 13-year-old son of his sister, Kelly, who passed away in 2007. This past November, Kelly's husband, Ben Lee Cheshire, died unexpectedly, leaving his son and two daughters orphaned.

The country music star recently told ABC News that he and his wife have invited 13-year-old Til to come live with them and their two sons in Nashville, Tennessee. The two daughters, who are older, also visit the family frequently.

"We feel like if we just stay positive through this, maybe we'll be a positive inspiration for people that had these things happen to 'em," Bryan told ABC News in a recent interview. "You just have to plow on and play the hand that's dealt."

"It's every day on the phone all day trying to talk with the family and figure out what to do, but it's what you gotta do," he said. "Tough stuff."

Bryan previously recalled his experience of losing his sister in a 2013 interview with People magazine. Bryan also lost his only brother in a car accident 11 years ago.

"Losing my brother changed me tremendously and losing Kelly, even more," Bryan told the magazine in 2013. "I literally do not take one second for granted."
