The Dallas nurse who recently recovered from Ebola is reportedly asking a bridal shop in Cleveland, Ohio for refunds on bridesmaid dresses following her disease treatment.

Amber Vinson, who was infected with Ebola while working at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, requested that Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal in Akron, Ohio to refund the $480 she had paid for her bridesmaid dresses. Vinson said that she has chosen to get the dresses from a different shop, arguing that her presence at Coming Attractions has been bad for the small business and her move was out of courtesy.

Shop owners argue, however, that Vinson already cost them money when she was diagnosed with Ebola, as the shop had to be quarantined and lost several days of business. Giving her a refund on top of the money they have already lost would be unfair, owner Anna Younker told the Associated Press.

"It doesn't make sense," Younker said. "I'm out a lot of money."

Vinson's attorney, Stephen Malouf, added to the media outlet that the nurse's intention was to be courteous to the shop's business, not to create more upset.

"This was an effort to help the shop and Amber. […] This was a purely innocent request and I'm sorry it wasn't received in the spirit in which it was sent."

Since her recovery from Ebola, Vinson has been given a new engagement ring from Zales jewelry store, after her original one was incinerated during the quarantine process.

"When I found out that Zales had offered to give a ring, I was taken aback by the generosity because I've had so much negativity towards me," Vinson previously said of the surprise from Zales.

"For someone to reach out to me with such a positive thing, it put a big smile on my face […] it made my day," the nurse added.
