Outspoken 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump has reportedly criticized fellow 2016 hopeful Carly Fiorina, mocking the female GOP candidate for her physical appearance.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Trump reportedly told journalist Paul Solotaroff that Fiorina will not get the GOP vote because of her facial appearance.

"Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that?" Trump asked Solotaroff. "Can you imagine that, the face of our next president."

Trump added, "I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?" Trump questioned.

The controversial 2016 presidential hopeful then sought to clarify his comments in an interview with CNN, claiming that he was speaking more of Fiorina's image and persona than her actual face.

"I'm not talking about looks. I'm talking about persona," Trump said on CNN's "New Day."

Fiorina responded to Trump's comments in an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly, saying: "Honestly, Megyn, I'm not going to spend a single cycle wondering what Donald Trump means, but maybe, just maybe, I'm getting under his skin a little bit, because I am climbing in the polls."

CNN adds that democratic presidential runner Hillary Clinton recently said that as a woman, she would love to take on Trump in a debate.

"We hear from candidates on the other side about turning back the clock on women's rights and there is one particular candidate who just seems to delight in insulting women," Clinton said. "I'm just saying, if he emerges, I would love to debate him."
