Donald Trump Jokes Obama Responsible for Super Bowl Play
Real estate mogul Donald Trump recently suggested that President Barack Obama had something to do with the Seattle Seahawks losing to the New England Patriots during Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday night.
Trump took to Twitter to criticize one of the final plays of the Seahawks, who were just yards away from scoring the winning touchdown with seconds left on the clock. According to Fansided, the Seahawks called a short slant route and the ball was intercepted by New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler, and the east coast team won the Super Bowl 28 to 24.
Trump, a long-time critic of the president, took to Twitter to describe the Seahawks play as the "dumbest play in [football] history."
"It must have been President Obama that called in what will go down as the DUMBEST PLAY IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL. Same thought process!" Trump tweeted.
Upon winning the most important football game of the season, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady admitted to having a "little bit of doubt" about winning the game.
"I felt like we were going to win the whole game, and then they made that catch. Then I had a little bit of a doubt," Brady told ESPN Monday morning.
"Then we made a great play. We've been on the other end of some great catches and not being able to finish it out. This time we made the play," the quarterback continued.
Brady added that he plans to stay in the NFL for more seasons. The quarterback will be 38 years old when the 2015 season starts.
"I love doing it, so I don't want it to end any time soon," he said. "A lot of decisions I make in my life are how to sustain it. That takes a commitment in and of itself. You have to put it in the bank, as Coach always says, so it's there when you need it."
