Donald Trump Offers Obama Lifetime Golf Membership For Resignation

Real estate mogul Donald Trump has made an interesting offer to President Barack Obama, offering the Commander in Chief free membership at all Trump golf courses for life if he resigns from the presidency.

Trump made the strange offer over Twitter after the president reportedly had trouble playing a round of golf during Labor Day weekend. The president's aides had reportedly made multiple phone calls to golf courses in New York to see if the president could be squeezed in for a round of golf, but several of the courses denied the request, saying that they didn't want the president's large security detail to muddle the game for golfers who had already made appointments.

When the president and his security detail visit a golf course, the entire area has to be shut down, and reportedly the golf courses in the affluent area of Westchester, New York did not want to cancel appointments for their other high paying customers.

According to Fox Sports, two of the courses Obama had trouble with were the Winged Foot Golf Club and the Trump National Bedminster. Donald Trump responded to the president's difficulty in a tweet uploaded Tuesday at 3:22 p.m.: "If Obama resigns from office NOW, thereby doing a great service to the country—I will give him free lifetime golf at any one of my courses!" Trump tweeted.

The real estate mogul received 13,500 retweets for his comment. Trump has previously criticized Obama, being one of the leaders of the "birther" movement that demands the president reveal his birth certificate under the allegation that he was originally born in Kenya.
