FAA Drops Donald Trump-Themed Navigation Codes
The Federal Aviation Administration announced this week that it would be re-naming three navigation codes in Florida due to the recent controversy regarding real estate mogul Donald Trump.
The FAA recently announced that three navigation codes at Palm Beach International Airport named in honor of Trump will be renamed after some pilots refused to use the navigation codes due to their negative opinion of Trump.
The codes were reportedly named years ago by an air traffic controller and include the phrases "You're Fired," "Donald," and "Trump."
"In general, the FAA chooses names that are non-controversial and relate to the area in which the fixes are located," the FAA told ABC News in a recent statement.
Recently, Trump, a 2016 presidential hopeful, came under fire for controversial comments he made regarding immigrants from other countries.
Trump made his comments during his presidential launch, suggesting that immigrants from Mexico are "bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists," adding "some, I assume, are good people."
The real estate mogul's comments caused business partners Macy's, NBC Universal, Univision, Televisa and Serta to drop their professional relationships with Trump.
Trump also told Fox & Friends that he didn't expect the backlash over his comments to be so severe.
"I didn't know it was going to be quite this severe," Trump said on "Fox & Friends." "But I really knew it was going to be bad."
"You know, maybe I'm leading in polls, but this is certainly not good," he also said. "I lose customers, I lose people."
