When it comes to football video game, fans are usually torn between the two popular choices available — EA Sports' "FIFA 17" and Konami's "Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2017." Back in the days, "FIFA" always get the winning lead but ever since Konami made some significant improvements to their game, "PES" has become a tough competitor.

Because of the long strides that both games have made for the past years, fans are now wondering which is better in terms of graphics, gameplay and others. According to Forbes, "PES" was able to overtake "FIFA" because of its use of the Fox Engine which provided the title a sharp gameplay.

Its rival did not back down, though. The publication cited that the EA Canada development team used the Frostbite engine for all of its sports video games. It also mentioned that "FIFA 17" wins by a slight margin because of the game's player models, stadiums, lighting and cinematic screens.

The faces of the players and manager have a great detail level and the motions run smoothly. But when it comes to the realism and gameplay, Konami's newest title in the series wins by all levels. Unlike "FIFA's" arcade-like feature, the "PES 2017" comes with a flawless collision detection, ball physics and pinpoint passing.

Moreover, in terms of the sound and presentation, the two games are different from each other. "PES 2017" comes with substandard commentary, repeated lines, and limited visual presentation qualities. Meanwhile, "FIFA 17" has a lot of presentations and comes with excellent and relevant commentary.

CBSSPORTS.com also noted some of the pros and cons of each game. The pros of the "FIFA 17" include more modes such as the online mode, career mode and the latest one — the story mode. Fans get to enjoy a movie-like feature starring young soccer prospect Alex Hunter.

On the other hand, one of its cons include an over tricky method of beating a defender one-on-one. Its handball also can be unrealistic. For the "PES 2017," the gameplay is very fun and players can do a lot with the formations, roles, tactics and others. However, one setback the game's lack of licenses.
