After having her heart broken on Valentine's Day, a former convent schoolgirl sought the help of Nevada's famous Moonlite Bunny Ranch so that she could auction off her virginity to the highest bidder.

Bailey Gibson, 23, has been saving herself for marriage, but she had decided to surrender her chastity after she found out that her boyfriend had cheated on her.

The graduate of an all-girls Christian school said she hopes to use the money to make a better life for herself.

"Society perceives me as a deviant, and I am okay with that. At the end of the day, it is my body. I have the right do what I want with it," she said, according to Daily Mail.

"Going through the Bunny Ranch allows me to legally have sex for money. Does this make me a prostitute? I don't know. If you take a picture once, does that make you a photographer? I do not think that capitalizing upon your purity makes you a bad person. Just like having sex with multiple men does not make you a bad person. We all make choices. Mine was to wait. Now it is to sell," she explained.

The brothel's communications director Jeremy Lemur said that her advertisement had already become a hit even though it was less than a day old.

Lemur noted that the brothel had already received a "deluge of inquiries" resulting from the announcement, adding that the brothel owner, Dennis Hof, is expecting bids to reach "mid-six figures to seven figures."

In a New Year's Day blog post, Gibson noted that many people do not believe that she is still a virgin. She explained that she was raised by an adoptive family who had "very strong Christian values" and that she grew up "very sheltered."

When she was 16, she had been sent to an all-girl boarding school in Missouri, where she had no contact with boys.

After her graduation, she was contacted by her biological father and traveled to North Carolina before she went to live with her fraternal grandmother in Wisconsin.

At the time, she dated a Christian boy who agreed with her decision to wait until marriage before having a sexual relationship. However, she soon found out that her boyfriend had cheated on her by sleeping with his ex on Valentine's Day.

She decided to stay with him and enter couple's therapy, but the boyfriend revealed during one session that he had dated another girl and cheated on her for the second time.

Gibson said that she eventually came to the conclusion that it was not worth waiting until marriage to lose her virginity, so she decided to lose it in the "most profitable way possible."

The 23-year-old contacted Hof through email and the pair set up the auction, which is now being run on the brothel's website. The brothel will keep half of the final bid price, and the rest will go to Gibson.
