Franklin Graham Says Father Billy Graham's 'Mind is Clear'
Evangelist Franklin Graham has provided an update on the health of his ailing father, the Revered Billy Graham, saying the 96-year-old religious leader maintains a clear mind during his physical weakness.
In a recent interview with NBC News, Franklin Graham confirmed that his father was physically very weak, but spoke briefly on his ministry following a recent game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys.
"He's very weak," Franklin Graham told NBC in a recent interview. "He's 96 years of age so he doesn't have a lot of stamina and he doesn't carry on long conversations, but his mind is still clear and we're thankful for that."
The elder Graham reportedly spoke to one of the nurses caring for him about his experience preaching in Dallas, Texas.
When the nurse asked if Graham had ever preached where the Packers were playing the Cowboys, the Reverend Graham replied that he had.
"One of the nurses beside him, she said 'Dr. Graham did you ever preach there'? He said, 'oh yes' and we talked a little bit about that."
Graham's daughter, Anne Graham Lotz, added in a recent interview with Premier that her father has not stopped praying for the lost despite his ongoing health troubles.
"He's not yet lost focus on the gospel and reaching people for Christ," Graham Lotz told the U.K.-based media outlet in a recent interview. "My father is a very humble man, and I think that comes from his walk with God."
