Abortion issue is bringing punishment on America from God, say Benham brothers
Prominent Christians Jason and David Benham believe that America is experiencing God's wrath with the ongoing transgender bathroom controversy because of the nation's sins of abortion.
According to The Christian Post, the Benham brothers spoke for 15 minutes at the Faith & Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority Conference," where they talked about America's punishment for its sins.
The former minor league baseball players well-known for their conservative voices quoted a biblical scripture where the Nation of Israel was punished by God for sacrificing their children to their Canaan idols. As a punishment, God sent the Israelis under the rule of those who hated them. Similarly, the Benham brothers pointed that America's sins of abortion are leading them to political leaders who abhor Christians and the Christian faith.
"That is exactly what is happening in America," David said in reference to Psalm 106.
David explained, "For over 40 years, we have shed innocent blood, over 60 million baby boys and girls, human beings who were created in God's image. Yet, we pretend that it doesn't exist."
Jason also blamed the church for having fallen asleep and thereby allowing the transgender bathroom laws to take hold. He likened the church's failure to a driver who has fallen asleep during a trip.
Jason told the audience, "Now, all of us are having to deal with this radical bathroom stuff. It was while the church was asleep and now God is calling us, He's calling you, He is calling Christians to say 'Ok, wake up.'"
Although the brothers stressed that conservative policies are not enough to save the nation, they claim that God Himself has provided a way out for America's problem. More than a political revolution, the Benham brothers believe that what America needs now is "a spiritual reformation in the name of Jesus."
Back in February, the real estate entrepreneurs posted a video message stating that Charlotte, North Carolina has three abortion clinics that's been there for decades. They attribute the transgender law in the state as their punishment from God for killing almost 1,000 babies a month.
